When a bluesman meets a rock’n’roll lady… you’d better watch out!

R.R. Bluebird and Elena Skoko are a buzzing combination of deep Chicago blues and dirty rock’n’roll energy that come from sparkles left in the air by Screaming Jay Hawkins, Billie Holiday, Muddy Waters, The Cramps and all those artists inspired by a fire burning inside.
Their music is the expression of passion for music and lust for life. They sing from the guts and play guided by that mysterious creature that you may call Mojo.

September 2008 is the date of the release of their first album together called “Trust Your Mojo, Sista”.

R.R. Bluebird grew up in Chicago under the wing of the great Junior Wells (Buddy Guy & Junior Wells). He left everything heading for the South Side of the “windy city”, as black as the night can be. Since 1975 he has blown his harp with all the chicagoans from Sammy Lawhorn to Eddy Taylor, from Phil Guy to Valerie Wellington. He jammed with Muddy Waters and opened for him the whole 1980 Italian tour. He played with Dr. John (whom with he recorded one song), John Kalb, Bill Dicey, Alexis Korner, Sun Ra Orchestra and many more. In 1982, one of his blues songs won the platinum record in South America. His songs have been included in numerous compilations in Europe and America. Bluebird has been followed by the music press and European tv stations since the beginning. His latest version of the song “Johnny B. Goode” received five stars from independent radio stations in US.

Elena Skoko released three albums with her band CUT. Playing psycho rock’n’roll, they’ve opened for Royal Trux, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, The Hives and many more. Recently she recorded a song “Watching Ya” released by the Italian record label Suoni di Jato distributed world-wide. Her artistic career lead her from the stage to the screen and in 2000 the short movie “Will U Die 4 Me?” came out winning a nomination from a festival in Italy. She’s been using various forms of art to explore the many sides of her soul, from video making to poetry, from performance to photography, travelling all around the Planet. It is through poetry that she meets Bluebird, a fatal encounter that brings them together for a new music adventure.
